Just one of the photos sent to America of a very young Hoover

Hoover

A real little Pilgrim as his name suggests, lives in Palm Beach Florida with his Dad Lou, his Mum Jayne and his Corgi brother Gofersox.

Jayne and her Daughter Heather actually flew to Britain to collect this special little man and he flew out to his new home in the cabin of the plane with his new Mum and Sister.

He now spends his days sunbathing and swimming in the pool and of course playing with his brother Gofersox, the two of them get on so well together that it was as though they were destined for each other.

AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB NEWS

Hoover has become the very first Lancashire Heeler to be recognised by the American Kennel Club he is on the register as a Foundation Stock Service Breed, which is only the first step to official recognition for the breed, but it has opened the way for other Lancashire Heelers to also be registered as Foundation Stock. Now all the ground work has been laid by Jayne who has had to prove that the breed actually exists by submitting reams of paperwork and photographs for review in July 2001, just as Gwen McIntosh did for the Lancashire Heeler in the UK, a Lancashire Heeler owner now just has to submit documentation of a pure pedigree of at least three generations and proof of the parents recognition by a foreign national registry, for the approval of the American Kennel Club.

Jayne is in the process of setting up an American Lancashire Heeler Club.  The next stage is for the breed to be eligible for Miscellaneous Breed Standing for this  the AKC has to have listed a total of 350 Lancashire Heelers owned by a total of at least 100 different households in a minimum of 20 different states. So again another first for our Pennijar Pilgrim and of course for us, to be associated with the First of many Lancashire Heelers recognised in America and to have actually bred him is fantastic.

Hoover 's Agility Classes are going  extremely well. He has graduated from the beginners class and he is now in Novice, again another first as he was the only dog  not doing the beginners class again hopefully he will be doing his first Agility Competition towards the end of the year, providing Jayne can keep up with him.

Lou and Jayne are wonderful, they keep us updated on Hoovers progress by email, letter, photographs and videos, so though he is thousands of miles away from us we have seen him grow from puppy hood into a wonderful 1 year old and what a beauty he is, he is a credit to his new family and believe me they do him proud.

We were so happy to find such a perfect home for our "Stunning Little Man", by the time we met Jayne and Heather it was as though we had known them all our lives, we were in regular contact with Jayne even before the litter was born, and we kept her updated with weekly photos of all the puppies, and later as they grew, we just knew this was the Special Man to go to such a special home and family.
